Improvements to Searches using dates

I find that common search I like to do is search for Faults Open and Faults Closed for the previous week/month. This can be done easily enough but requires me to change the dates in my search everytime.
Could you add something, that allows you select a previous period...without adding extra UI you could make the Date boxes support keywords e.g. TODAY,BEGINWEEK,ENDWEEK,YESTERDAY etc
So, you can save your search for Prev Week Opened like
Created:
BEGINWEEK to 1/1/2050
Closed:
1/1/1980 to 1/1/2050
This way, every new week BEGINWEEK will update accordingly.
I would prefer a combox as a supplement to/or replacement to the date textfields
