I think it would be a good idea to remove the duplicate components as you have no idea which ones which. It will also save clicking on each one.    Report

Cons about doing this would be. 1. Custom fields are displayed depending on what system/component combination is selected. If you consolidated components with the same name then you would have to display all custom fields for like components even if you really only wanted to search on a specific one. 2. It would be technically more restrictive in that you couldn't search for all components of a given system, and specific components on another system where they shared a like component name. For example System A Component 'Apples' Component 'Oranges' System B Component 'Lemons' Component 'Pears' Component 'Bananas' Component 'Oranges' If you wanted to Search across All of System B and only Apples in System A you would no longer be able to if you consolidated the 'Oranges' in the component select. Perhaps what you are really after is for Systems to be able to really share components. In the above example, both System A and System B share 'Oranges'.    Report
